Permanent Shelf Life
Every once in a while I type my name into Goggle and see what turns up. Today I found a news item from my past, that brought a smile to my face. I was once a Community Relations Manager at Barnes and Noble and I loved every moment of it.
Starting community literacy programs was only a small piece of my world at that time but it was fascinating and rewarding. The following article was in the MHA Newsletter back in 2000.
BARNES & NOBLE HELPS CONSUMERS- LITERALLY!
The consumers and staff at MHA’s Place on Sycamore would like to thank Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Orange for their ongoing involvement in the Multi-Service Center.
The Literacy Group, which is facilitated by Analise Kaufman-Glover, Barnes & Noble’s Community Relations Manager, is offered every week and includes a variety of activities aimed at improving Consumer’s literacy skills. She also offers one-on-one literacy appointments for those needing additional assistance.
Thanks to Michael Cordova, Store Manager and Barnes & Noble for helping improve the quality of life for those using Place on Sycamore.
Barnes & Noble Booksellers is located at 791 S. Main Street in Orange, (714) 558-0028
